So you are new to email marketing and found yourself on an everlasting loop of selecting Best Free Email Marketing Software? well, no worries, as this is all about email marketing services who offer generous free plans to get you started. It’s worth spending a little time on testing different email software and their feature, ease of use, design quality, integration etc. to sum up an overall experience rating before you decide to purchase a premium subscription. Surely, not everyone has a flexible budget especially small businesses and startups, therefore, I hope this will help you.

Sendinblue Email Marketing software

Sendinblue is on top of my list. They started as a digital agency and later created the Email marketing tool Sendinblue, especially focusing on small and medium-sized businesses. I believe their features and plans are also created according to their goal. Although they can be considered as a newcomer they have managed to establish their name and place easily because of their features, affordability and easy to use interface.

Pros:

What sets them apart from others is their pricing figure. You can have unlimited subscribers or contacts on your list and they won’t charge you. I find this is the most crucial feature for any small business owners out there. Almost all others will charge you per subscriber amount and have a sort of limit per plan which often sums up a huge amount of bill when your list grows bigger with time. Hence, Sendinblue has a major advantage over other email service providers. Their free plan lets you store unlimited contacts and gives 300 free emails daily and next premium plan starts at 25$ giving you 40,000 emails per month. For solo entrepreneurs to small businesses, even for eCommerce, Sendinblue is my first recommendation to check out.

Sendinblue has good integration with other third-party tools too. For instance, within a short moment, I managed to integrate it within Integromat to set a webhook to pull form subscription data to add as a new subscriber on my sendinblue list and I didn’t even have any prior technical knowledge about webhook or such workflow.

Features:

  • Unlimited contacts and management
  • Visual email editor and builder
  • Integrations with third-party tools
  • Transactional email
  • API and SMTP
  • Email templates
  • Email marketing automation
  • Landing page builder
  • A/B testing
  • SMS campaigns & chat

Cons:

There’s not a huge list of cons that I can specify but I would have liked more customizing features for forms and email templates. The major cons is if your email campaign has more than 300 receivers then you have to manually re-queue them as 300 emails is the daily limit. For example, It will take 3 days for your campaign to be sent if it has 900 receivers. I wish they removed the limit but of course, can’t expect so much for free.

Their pricing plan starts from 25$ per month with 40,000 emails. To know more details please visit their official site: www.sendinblue.com

Mailchimp Free Email Marketing Software

Mailchimp is considered probably the number one and go-to email marketing software from many and there are good reasons for that. When it comes to features and designs, It has almost everything and a bit more. To be honest, It is so comprehensive it can be a bit of overwhelming. Nonetheless, It has everything to get you started with your email marketing with ease. I’m currently using them too apart from sendinblue.

Pros:

Mailchimp has many features and advantages that make them set apart even entitle as a market leader. For instance, their free plan comes with no daily limit and lets you send 12,000 emails per month and allows up to 2,000 subscribers. They have the most integration support with third-party tools and to be honest, if there is a feature of email integration within any tool, you will likely to find Mailchimp on the list.
You can segment, add a tag and group your subscribers even use automation like any other marketing tools. I am using Elmentor page builder on my site and it also had Mailchimp integration natively for forms. If you have a small number of subscribers but require more emails sending per month then I think Mailchimp is a nice one to start with.

Features:

  • Visual email Desiging tool.
  • Email reports
  • Contact management
  • Many integrations with third-party tools
  • SMTP and transactional email (via a separate add-on tool)
  • API key
  • Email marketing automation
  •  Landing page builder
  •  Integrated with Facebook, Instagram, Google remarketing

Cons:

Now, Mailchimp has its cons too and the first one would be the price once you cross your free plan’s limit. It adds up very quickly as it doesn’t have an unlimited feature like sendinblue, for instance, on the starter essential plan you have to pay $29 per month for 2500 contacts with unlimited emails. Another thing is Mailchimp has so many features that it may seem complicated at first, especially the interface has so many things that any new user might find it hard to navigate.

Sendpulse Free Email Marketing software

Sendpulse is one of my favourite among the top Email Marketing Tools. It is also one of the newcomers but has all the top features like email, SMS, web push, Viber, Facebook and many more. There are a lot of things that I like about Sendpulse and their pricing is also not so unreasonable. But since here, we are mostly focused on Best Free Email Marketing Software, then yes, Sendpulse features a generous free plan which gives you 15,000 emails per month and up to 2500 subscribers.

Pros:

Let’s start with the interface. Sendpulse’s interface is modern centric and it is going to catch your eyes. It’s one of the cleanest and easiest interfaces to navigate and I like it very much. It’s so intuitive that anyone wouldn’t face many difficulties to find out things. During my checking process, I wrote on their live chat support and twice I had got an immediate response which is noteworthy even as a free user I was surely not expecting that.

Besides, they have a huge knowledge base and everything is nicely documented that you won’t have to work very hard to find. Sendpulse also has good third-party integration.

Moreover, It was the first software I had found to be working well when I was trying to set up a webhook for the first time. Sendpulse’s unique free plan offers unlimited web push to 10,000 subscribers. Besides that, the email builder is also beautiful. Their premium plan starts from $9.85 monthly which offers 2500 subscribers with unlimited emails. Sendpulse really checks the mark for almost everything from me. I highly recommend checking them out.

Features:

  • Amazing visual email builder
  • Reports
  • Contact lists and management
  • Integrations with third-party tools
  • SMTP and API key
  • Email Templates
  • Email marketing automation
  • Web push notifications
  •  SMS campaign
  • Facebook Chatbot

Cons:

There are not many cons I found on Sendpulse. The major drawback was that you can’t export your subscribers’ list from Sendpulse on the free plan. To export your list you have to upgrade to the $9.85 monthly plan but it does add many goodies too. I wish they provided the exporting function on the free plan, then they might have been the number one among all Email marketing services that offer a free plan.

Mailjet Free email marketing software

Mailjet is one of the most affordable Email marketing software among all and It’s amazing if you need to send a huge amount of emails monthly. The price table is denoting why it’s used by +150,000 companies all over the world to create, send, and track their marketing and transactional emails. It’s simple, affordable and It features unlimited contacts like sendinblue even on the Free plan. Its free plan offers 6000 emails monthly with a 200 daily sending limit and SMTP, API, webhooks etc.

Pros:

Mailjet’s major advantage is probably its affordability. Businesses that require a huge number of bulk emails and subscribers will find mailjet attractive especially for eCommerce. For instance, its basic plan starts at $9 and gives you 30,000 emails per month which is amazing. One of the newly added features is a multi-user collaboration, which allows both marketers and developers to work together in real-time, even lock sections and set template validation which I find very unique to mention.

Just because its affordable it doesn’t mean its worse than others, Mailjet maintains its reputation and check for spammers actively to not let its platform to be misused. Besides that creating contact list, setting up automation and basic newsletter seem to be a not-so- complicated process. I recommend checking them out specially if your business requires a huge amount of emails monthly.

Features:

  • Visual email builder
  • Statistic Reports
  • Contact lists and management
  • Integrations with third-party tools
  • SMTP and API key
  • Email Templates
  • Email marketing automation
  • Transactional SMS
  • Multy user collaboration

Cons:

No email marketing software comes without caveat, same goes for Mailjet. Its segmentation and automation might feel short comparing to other providers. However, everyone has a different set of needs and expectations regarding email marketing, It’s hard to make an objective statement sometimes. What do I mostly suggest is to check out yourself and you are sure to find out if the affordability has its catch. I have not personally tested but have heard their emails often go to the promotion tab instead of inbox in Gmail.

Omnisend Free email marketing software

Omnisend is the last on this list on Best Free Email Marketing Software. It offers almost similar features of other email marketing software that are mentioned here. Although I must say it is mainly focused on eCommerce business and it has its strength in that field. It began its journey in 2014 with a goal to help and empower small and medium-sized eCommerce businesses while making complex email marketing features simplified and accessible to everyone.

Pros:

Omnisend has a simplistic interface with a minimal look. Its simplicity and easy to understand interface is praiseworthy. I must mention, It’s amazing for eCommerce business and it integrates well with many platforms. you can configure everything in just a short period with ease according to your preference. Automation is also a very intuitive process and on whole, it was given proper thought.

Probably It’s the most powerful feature of Omnisend which called Omnichannel automation by them and you can really do a lot of things. There are enough clean email templates for anyone to start and drag n drop builder is beautiful. Besides its segmented campaigns, there are also SMS campaigns, Facebook messenger, google and Facebook ads audience sync, re-targeting and many more eCommerce centric features to help your business grow. Their free plan offers 15,000 emails with daily 2,000 sending limit with unlimited subscribers.

Features:

  • Visual email builder
  • Statistic Reports
  • Contact lists and management
  • Integrations with many eCommerce platforms
  • Advanced omni channel automation
  • Email Templates
  • SMS Marketing
  • Push Notification
  • Facebook messenger, whatsapp etc.
  • Google ads, facebook ads sync and retargeting.

Cons:

Although Omnisend has a great free plan there are caveats as well. The basic plan doesn’t include all the advanced features and the standard plan starts from $16 with 15,000 emails and subscriber’s limit down to 500 which is kind of odd. However, their pricing model increases with both subscriber limit and email number, for instance, for 1500 subscribers in the standard plan you will get 18,000 emails and cost you $25. Overall, it is worth checking out.

At last, some might say I missed few other free email service providers like Moosend, Mailgun, Benchmark, Mailerlite etc and many more. Well, some i have not had the pleasure of testing and some I have ignored intentionally such as Benchmark cause it offers its free plan only for the USA as their customer representative specified and MailerLite had given me terrible experience and I don’t like their approval system either.
I hope to test more and learn more, gradually amend more info regarding deliver-ability too.
